Latas
Latas (Serbian: Латас) is a surname, found in South Slavic countries, mainly in Croatia. This surname or last name is not tied to any nationality or confession. Croatian linguist, Petar Šimunović, derived Lat from personal name Láto (Latif), meaning gentle.[1] The second part as is ending suffix, often found in personal names among Vlach pastoralist communities from Dinaric Alps.[1][2]
