Lashari

Lashari (also Lasharie, Lashary, Lashare, Lasharee, or Laashaari, or Saein; Balochi: لاشاری) is the name of a Baloch tribe in Pakistan and Iran. The Lasharis have migrated and settled in the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Iraq, Indonesia, USA, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, England, Canada, and many other countries of the world. Large population of Lasharis are found around Punjab who settled there for a long time and now identify themselves with the local culture but they remain calling themselves Lashari as well but they are mostly setteled in an Area or Province of Baluchistan which is called LASHAR ( لاشار ) it is located in western area of Iranian Part of Baluchistan from Pahra ( Iranshahr ) to Jolga Area in the north to Geh ( Nikshahr ) and Gandawa ( Kaserkand )in the south and Ashar ( Sarbaz ) and Ahorran Area in the East.

They are descendants of Mir Jalal Khan, the Founder and Ruler of the First Baloch Confederacy in the 12th Century. Mir Jalal Khan is believed to be the Ancestor of the Rinds, Lasharis, Hooths, Korais and Jatois.^[1]

Origins

According to the Balochi narration, Lashari's are descended from Qureshi Arabs from the generation of Hazrat Ameer Hamza. The Balochs living in Aleppo, largest city of Syria, were confederates of Hazrat Imam Hussain against Yazid I, second Caliph of the Umayyad Caliphate. The caliph ejected Hazrat Imam Hussain, so they left Aleppo and migrated to Balochistan.

History

A force of 3,000 Baloches serving under Jam Feroz ; so that it is probable that rival Baloch tribes fought on opposite sides. This is borne out by Baloch legend as to the rivalry between the Rinds and Lasharis, in which the Turks under Zunu (Zu'n-nun Beg) and the King of Sibi, Jam Ninda, play an important part. 1 The Rinds were under Mir Chakar Khan Rind, and the Lasharis under Mir Gwaharam Khan, who were rivals for the hand of the fair Gohar, the owner of large herds of camels. Gohar preferred Mir Chakar Khan Rind, and this led to a quarrel. A horse-race, in which the Rinds are stated to have won by trickery, precipitated the out- break. Some Lasharis killed some of Gohar's young camels, and Mir Chakar Khan Rind thereupon swore revenge. A desperate war began, which lasted for thirty years that resulted in thousands dead, including Mir Chakar's brother. The war and the gallantry of the two tribe leaders continues to be a part of the Baloch peoples' history.After defeating the Lashari tribe, Mir Chakar Khan Rind left Balochistan and settled in the Punjab region in 1518.

The Lasharis remained at Gandava, and some Rinds main- tained their position at Shoran, both places not far from Sibi in the plain of Kachhi. These events constitute the Iliad of the Baloch race, and form the subject of numerous picturesque ballads which have been handed down verbally to the present day.The Baloch race. In 1487 a Baloch Kingdom was formed under Mir Chakar Khan Rind's rule, which was later destroyed by a civil war between the Lashari and Rind tribes. Mir Gwahram Khan Lashari and Mir Chakar Khan Rind were leaders of their tribes during the Baloch civil war, the war was going on for 30 years in Gajaan Balochistan.

After this war, the Lashari and Rind tribes settled mostly in Sindh, Punjab, and in the Lodhran District Thal Desert (in Muzaffargarh and Layyah District). Layyah district.

According to their history, the Lashari tribe migrated with the Jilani Syeds from Baghdad, Iraq to Sindh.

Other Lashari tribes are settled in all districts of Sindh Province, specially in districts of Hydarabad, Thata, Badin, Tando Allahiyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Mattayari, Nawabshah, Naoshero fairoz, Dadu, Khairpur Mirus, Sukkar, Kashmor, Shikarpur, Larkana, Jacubabad,and Kamber Shahdadkot. They are settled in all tehsels of this district, specially many Villages are settled in Tehsel Warah, Just Like Aadho Khan Lashari, Lashkar khan Lashari,Ali Bahar, Haji Jaffar khan Lashari,Rustum Lashari, Sojharo Khan Lashari Bulla khan Lashari, Budhapur,sirwer Allah Jurio khan Lashari and other villages. They are also found in Mianwali district of Punjab as Azam Khel and Kundokhel. The Lasharies are also found in Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismail Khan district some of them are Kanera Khel or Kanera tribe descendant from Azam Khel clan of Lashari Tribe. The Magsi (Urdu: مگسی) are a Baloch tribe of Balochistan and Sindh province of Pakistan Magsi tribe is historically branched off the early Lashari tribes. The jiskani tribe is also described to be clan of lasharis . this tribe located in the Pakistani provinces of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab. Formerly a powerful tribe in the Sindh Sagar Doab, with headquarters at Mankera, and still numerous there.

Lasharis still live in Balochistan and the Sardar of Lashari tribe, living in historical village of Gajaan.

A large population of Lasharies are settled in Saraiki belt and the northern Punjab, with a dense population in areas around Muzafar Garh.
