Larik

The Larik is a Sindhi tribe from the interior of Sindh, Pakistan.[1] The people of the Larik tribe/caste are mostly found in Naushehro Feroze District, Khairpur, Pir-Jo-Goth and the villages of Bahar Larik, Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Shikarpur and Khanpur as well as the town of Bhit Shah. There are also large villages in Naushahro Feroze District called Moulehdino Larik, Kunda Khahi and Khahi Rahu where Lariks are located. Another village is in the Khairpur District named Shahladhani and there is Naukot in Mirpur Mathelo. The word Larik is derived from the Sindhi word "Lar" meaning a rope tied across a river. In the past, the Larik tribe used the rope to transport people by boat across rivers.
