Largo is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California.[1] It is located on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad 10 miles (16 km) south-southeast of Ukiah,[2] at an elevation of 522 feet (159 m).[1]
A post office operated at Largo from 1889 to 1905, having moved in 1897.[2] The name honors Lemuel F. Long, a settler of 1858; "Largo" is Spanish for "Long".[2]
Climate
This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Largo has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps.[3]
