Lahore Grammar School, or LGS, is a group of private academic preparatory institutions based in the city of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The system was established in 1979 at its 55 Main Gulberg campus. The institution provides education to boys and girls until A Levels. The LGS College for Women offers a degree programme in arts and sciences as well as a bachelors in computers. LGS has branches in Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Wah Cantt.

LGS provides preschool education, primary education, secondary education and preparation for international General Certificate of Education (GCE). Some branches also provide preparation for local Secondary School Certificate.

House system

Students from each grade are sorted in four houses which are named after the fast flying birds. All houses participate in the activities and competitions of the school.

The Grammar School's co-curricular activities are popular among the youth of Lahore. They range from educational events to completely enjoyment programmes. Most of the branches have an environment society, which campaigns against the degreening of Lahore, and the concomitant decline in Lahore's air quality. Many branches have a community service program, proving students with opportunities to volunteer at organisations. Some of these include the Pakistan Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, the Rising Sun Institute, Fatima Memorial Hospital, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.

Debate clubs are popular and are usually in Urdu and English. The Johar Town branch won the All Pakistan U19 championships in 2011, beating rivals Karachi Grammar School.^[1]

In 2015, Lahore Grammar School Paragon introduced the first ever Aviation Society in Pakistan to promote the aviation industry of Pakistan and bring awareness to its students about the opportunities the industry provides and its importance to the economy.^[2]

Bonfires are an annual tradition for junior branches. Each branch has its own event and the students registered at that school attend with their family and friends. The event is an opportunity for students to take a brief break from schoolwork. It is also a chance for them and their parents to interact with teachers and school staff in an informal and social setting. Students and teachers often use this as an opportunity to discuss things that might be causing problems at school because everyone is in a good mood and willing to be more cooperative. ^[3]

Concerts by famous musical bands are held annually. The bands may be local or even the school's own bands. All major branches put on an annual play every year, in Punjabi, Urdu or English. Plays like Andhera Ujala were screened on television channels whereas Khatra-e-Jaan which had a number of LGS participants also received favourable reviews across Lahore.^[4] The school's network has gone on educational trips to Lahore, all over Pakistan and to abroad countries including India,^[5] China, the United States of America, Uzbekistan, and Egypt.^[6][7]

• Aaminah Haq, model and actress, known as a Lux model and for her role in the television drama Mehndi.
• Arfa Karim, the youngest Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) in the world.^[8]
• Anusheh Asad, model and makeup artist.
• Fawad Afzal Khan, musician, actor and model, lead vocalist of the band Entity Paradigm and played lead role in Khuda Kay Liye and in lead role for the TV drama Humsafar.
• Kiran Khan, Olympian, represented Pakistan in swimming at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
• Meesha Shafi, actress, singer, former lead vocalist of the band "Overload".
• Meher Bukhari, female journalist and a host, working at Dunya News.
• Mehreen Raheel, actress, played lead role in Virsa and Freedom Sound.
• Shahvaar Ali Khan, writer, singer-songwriter and composer.
