Lagarto is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Sergipe. Its population is greater than 100,000 inhabitants (2013) and its area is 969 km².
Football player Diego Costa was born and raised in Lagarto, also with the help of his agent he built the first football academy in Lagarto, to help with the quality of life for young footballers there.
