The Ladies Literary Club Clubhouse, at 850 East South Temple St. in Salt Lake City, Utah, was built in 1913. It was designed by noted architects Treganza & Ware in Prairie School style.[1]
The club was founded in 1877 and is the oldest women's club in the United States west of the Mississippi River.[2]
Its first president was Mrs. Eliza Kirtley Royle, whose 1875-built home is also NRHP-listed.[2][3]
The clubhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.[1]
In 2013, the club donated the building to the Utah Heritage Foundation, which plans to renovate it and use it as a community event center.[4]
