Ladhana is a village in Danta Ramgarh tehsil in Sikar district in Rajasthan, India. Vijayranias founded a village called 'Vijarna' in 1078 and constructed a fort at 'Ladhana' in 1178. It was the capital of republic of Vijayrania Jat clan. As of 2001 census the population of the village is 7714, out of which 1410 are S.C. and 227 are ST tribes.

History

Vijayrania clan people are found in Rajasthan and Haryana in India. The existence of this clan is known from the time of Alexander the Great. Greek historians have clarified about the meaning of Vijayrania. Vijayrania is derived from Vijay (Victory) + Ran (War). Varetatae people of Greek language, mentioned by Megasthenes, were the same people as Vijayrania in Hindi. Megasthenes has mentioned in Indica about them that their king did not keep elephant but trusted entirely to their horses and foot. In Khandelawati the remnants of their fort and stable for horses are still present. This clan people had struggled a lot for their victory during those times. They have been found in Jaipur region since ancient times. They had a war with Altmus. They rebelled against Muslims many times. Vijayranias founded a village called 'Vijarna' in 1078 and constructed a fort at 'Ladhana' in 1178. One chieftain Jagsingh of this clan founded his rule in Palsana of Shekhawati region in year 1255. In year 1515 there was a chieftain named Dev Raj when Shekhawats and Kachwaha Rajputs were spreading their rule in Shekhawati.
