La Sarita is a Peruvian punk rock group was formed in Lima, circa 1998, by Julio Perez and Martin Choy. La Sarita's name comes from the blessed "Sarita Colonia" a symbol of popular faith. La Sarita has four independent albums Mas Poder released in 1999, Danza la Raza in 2003, Mamacha Simona in 2009, and Identidad in 2012. La Sarita's sound is alternative hard rock fused with Latin flavor, Peruvian folkloric music and Afroperuvian sounds. La Sarita has a huge underground following in Latin America.

Lyrical Depth

La Sarita's lyrics are about social injustice and issues, urban drama, political corruption, destruction of the environment and ecosystems, about everyday life in South and Central American countries.

Touring

La Sarita' have toured to other countries like Finland,[1] Switzerland,[2] they played a rock festival in Salvador Bahia, Brazil, they have participated in "Rock En El Parque 2000" in Colombia. The band has also played in Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador and all over Peru. La Sarita have shared the stage with international bands like Molotov, Enanitos Verdes, Todos Tus Muertos, Aterciopelados, Manu Chau, Los Prisioneros, La Cuca and Los Pericos.[3]
