La La La is a song by American rapper Chris Webby from his debut mixtape The White Noise LP (2009). The song was first released on April 17, 2009, on YouTube on his channel ForTheBurbs. It was later included as the first track on his mixtape The White Noise LP, released on April 30, 2009. La La La is one of Chris Webby's first songs recorded in 2008 and is also one of the songs that sample ATC's Around The World (La La La La La). In La La La, the lyrics makes references of Webby's daily life with use of weed, as he calls it the 'weed song'. There are other remixes and versions of this song since it was released, such as the ones on YouTube.
Background
The song that La La La samples, ATC's Around The World, produced by Alex Christensen, was released on May 22, 2000, and performed well in the European charts. It would later be used for various covers and other versions. In mid-2008, Chris Webby, a rapper from Norwalk, Connecticut, went on to record a hip-hop version of this song called "La La La". The new song was first previewed on one of his earliest videos on YouTube on October 28, 2008. It was later released as a full song on April 17, 2009, on YouTube. It was one of the songs that marked the start of all Chris Webby's music.
Composition
La La La is a hip hop song with some dance and pop elements. The song runs at a length of 3 minutes and 48 seconds, compared to ATC's Around The World at 3 minutes and 36 seconds. According to the back cover of The White Noise LP, the song was originally produced by a local producer named Evo. It uses urban, hip-hop-like drumbeats that sound like that of early 2000s instrumentals. The song heavily samples ATC's Around The World, an international dance song from 2000 based on Ruki Vverh's Pesenka, a Russian pop song from 1998. The sample is used into intro, chorus, melody and outro elements. Also, its tempo slows down at a running speed of 0.7275 seconds, allowing Webby to use a moderate rapping speed. Webby lends his rap vocals, performing 3 verses and 3 pop-like choruses in this dance-sampled song. The vocals of ATC are heard in intro, outro and 3 choruses of the sample as in its original version.
Other versions
There are other covers, remixes and versions of La La La. SMP Records released his version called "Around The World" on March 26, 2009 on YouTube. Milliano released his version called "La La La/History" on August 5, 2010 on YouTube. The Emsee released his version called "Around The World" on September 7, 2010 on YouTube. Oregonized released its version with the same title on July 23, 2012 on YouTube. There are instrumental versions of this song found on YouTube. All other versions of this song performed by other artists can be found on YouTube. One fanmade method is that when the song La La La is sped up to 1.37 seconds from its original tempo, it could sound like that of ATC's Around The World, so it will be like an urban dance beat with a high-pitched voice of Chris Webby. This can be done using audio editing software.
