Léger Marketing

Leger ‒ The Research Intelligence Group is the largest Canadian-owned research and polling firm, with 10 offices and over 600 employees.[1] Léger & Léger was created in 1986 by Jean-Marc Léger and his father, Marcel Léger, former cabinet minister for the Parti Québécois.[2] In 1996, Léger & Léger changed its name to Léger Marketing, and began branching out by courting business clients.[3] In 2000, Léger Marketing announced the acquisition of Criterion Research Corp. with offices in Toronto and Winnipeg.[4] Leger Marketing bought out Criterion Research in Edmonton in 2005[5] and Claros Research in Calgary in 2006.[6] In 2007, Leger Marketing achieves a US ‘breakthrough' with the acquisition of ARC Research, a Philadelphia-based agency that specializes in market research and advertising studies, and developing marketing strategies for clients.[7] In 2010, Jean-Marc Léger was elected president of WIN (Worldwide Independent Network) of market researchers which brings together the largest independent research firms from 77 countries.[8][9] Leger Marketing continues to pursue international growth by becoming a majority shareholder of ISOPUBLIC, a Swiss polling and market research firm,[10] which will later become Léger Schweiz.[11] In order to better reflect the scope and diversity of services offered by the company, Leger Marketing announces that it will now be known as Leger, The Research Intelligence Group.[12] Leger also launches Leger Analytics, a division that will provide advanced statistical and modeling consulting to Leger’s clients.[13] In 2012, Leger acquires a majority stake in Agility Metrics Inc., a software company specializing in Customer Experience Management solutions.[14] Agility Metrics will be renamed Leger Metrics.[15] In the same year, Leger has acquired Toronto-based pharmaceutical research specialist Researchology.[16] In 2013, Leger announced the acquisition of IFOP North America, a market research firm based in Toronto which brings a unique expertise in the healthcare sector and consumer insights.[17] Leger becomes a minority shareholder and strategic partner of imarklab, the Canadian frontrunner in interactive marketing solutions in 2014. This partnership will make it possible to market novel UX research, such as eye tracking, emotional recognition, along with physiological measures and neuroscientific approaches, to optimize the customer's experience on the Web.[18]

Online Surveys Leger also owns legerweb.com, the largest Internet web panel in Canada, with over 400,000 members.[19]
