Kurtis Rowe (born 12 November 1993) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer for the Wests Tigers of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays fullback and wing.

Playing career

Born in Taranaki, New Zealand, Rowe played his junior football for the Waitara Bears before being signed by the Wests Tigers. Rowe attended Keebra Park High School on the Gold Coast when he moved to Australia. In 2011, Rowe played for the Australian Schoolboys. He played for the Tigers' NYC team in 2012 and 2013[1] before moving on to the Tigers' New South Wales Cup team in 2014. In September 2013, Rowe re-signed with the Tigers on a 2-year contract.[2] In 2013, Rowe played for the Junior Kiwis.[3]

Wests Tigers

In 14 February 2014, Rowe was selected in the Tigers inaugural 2014 NRL Auckland Nines squad.[4] In Round 6 of the 2014 NRL season, Rowe made his NRL debut for the Tigers against the North Queensland Cowboys replacing an injured James Tedesco at fullback in the Tigers 16-4 win at Campbelltown Stadium.[5][6] Rowe played 6 consecutive games in a period where regular fullback James Tedesco was injured. Later the in the season when Tedesco was again injured, Mitchell Moses was instead chosen as his replacement, but Rowe did make two further appearances in first grade near the end of the season. Rowe finished off his debut year in the NRL in the 2014 season with him playing in 8 matches for the Tigers.
