Kuala Lumpur City Gallery

Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is located right in the Historical Enclave of Dataran Merdeka. The gallery, housed in a century old British Government Printing office, was built in 1898. During the British Administration, the building was first built to meet the administrative needs of Kuala Lumpur, the newly founded capital of the Federated Malay States.

Kuala Lumpur City Gallery tells the story of Kuala Lumpur through photos, prints and miniature models. The gallery is part of the ARCH group’s success in promoting the city’s preservation & conservation. The highlight here is The Spectacular City Model Show, the first and largest light and sound show of the city's Present and Future projected on the model which measures 40 x 50 ft (12 x 15 metres)!

Kuala Lumpur City Gallery also serves as a Tourist Information Centre. Other highlights in the gallery are the iconic I LOVE KL structure, a diorama model of Dataran Merdeka and Chinatown, live demo of the making of local handcrafted gifts, a D.I.Y Workshop and the Largest Kuala Lumpur Skyline wood mural.

Visitors can purchase made in Malaysia souvenirs at the ARCH Kuala Lumpur Gift Shop, endorsed as The Official Souvenir of Kuala Lumpur. The gallery houses the ARCH Cafe, serving finest traditionally home-made Malaysian delicacies. Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is a must stop for everyone to know and explore 360° of Kuala Lumpur.

The Founder of the gallery, Andrew J. K. Lee, is a man with great passion for heritage. This is what led him to acquire his skills in architectural modelling. Today, ARCH is one of the largest model-making companies in Asia. Andrew documented and created the first guided Kuala Lumpur Walks & Tours Map and established Kuala Lumpur City Gallery as a true reflection of his appreciation towards the city.
