The KuMoHa 12 (クモハ12形) electric multiple units (EMU) trains were classified in 1959 by the Japanese National Railways (JNR) under their present name. Previously, they were called MoHa 12 cars from 1953 to 1959, and were also named by some alternative names (depending on the car) from 1933 to 1960. The KuMoHa 12 cars were manufactured from 1933 to 1987.
List of coaches
- 12000 - 12004 - Manufactured in 1933 as 33 series.
- 12010 - 12018 - Manufactured in 1950 as 31 series MoHa 31 cars.
- 12019 - 12032 - Manufactured in 1958 as 31 series.
- 12040 - Manufactured in 1960 as 30 series KuMoHa 11 car.
- 12041 - Converted in 1987 from KuMoYa 22 112, dating from 1927, for special-event use by JR Central on the Iida Line.[1] This trainset is exhibited at the SCMaglev and Railway Park since March 2011.[2]
- 12050 - 12055 - Converted in 1958 from former MoHa 31 cars dating from 1929.[1] Later operated by JR East on the Tsurumi Line (Ōkawa Branchline), the last car was withdrawn in 1996.
