Krutibas Nayak

Dr. Krutibas Nayak (born 1955) is an award-winning author in India. He writes articles, poems, stories, novels in Oriya. He is a popular leading name in Oriya literature. Dr. Nayak has established himself in the field of Children's literature. He is nationally recognized and has received many national and state level recognition.

Dr. Krutibas Nayak was born at an east coast village named Ektala in Rajkanika block of Orissa, India in 1955. He spent his early life in Southern part of Orissa, where he graduated in literature from Berhampur University. Dr. Nayak achieved Doctorate degree in 1992 in the field of Children's literature with his thesis named Oriya Shishu Galpara Swaroop O Vikash(Nature and Development of Oriya Children's Stories). He became a popular name in every Oriya family during the '80s by creating and editing children's magazine in Oriya by names Shishu Nayan, Ame Shishu and Shishu Raija. These magazines used to be a familiar household name in Orissa for more than a decade. Shishu Raija was published between 1976 and 1990 from Jeypore in Orissa. The magazine contained various stories, articles, poems, trivia, information for kids and teenagers. Popular faces in Oriya literature like Ramakrushna Nanda, Pundit Upendra Tripathy, Manorama Mohapatra, Pathani Patnaik, Dr. Jagannath Mohanty, Nanda Kishore Singh, etc.

Dr. Krutibas Nayak made his place in School books through his patriotic stories and poems. Dr. Krutibas Nayak recently joined All India Radio in Jeypore, Odisha on 13.12.2012 as Asst.
