Kromtech is a European-based technology investment firm founded in 2012. In 2013 Kromtech purchased the rights and ownership of MacKeeper and PCKeeper, two bundled software applications for the OS X operating system and for Windows-based computers. The applications were developed by Zeobit, which had localized the user interface into 19 different languages and estimated the total user base at around fifteen million.[1] The user network is operated by Kromtech, which has its MacKeeper and PCKeeper division headquarters in Latvia and a development team in Ukraine. The headquarters is based in Cologne, Germany.

Purchase of MacKeeper and PCKeeper

In March 2013 Kromtech Alliance Corp appointed Vasyl Minnikov as the Director and made the purchase offer to ZeoBit LLC to purchase MacKeeper and PCKeeper brands.[2] Negotiations were completed and Zeobit LLC accepted the sales agreement at the end of March 2013 pending standard formalities and closing procedures. In May 2013 Kromtech Alliance Corp acquired MacKeeper and PCKeeper from ZeoBit LLC.[3]

MacKeeper

MacKeeper is a utility software for OS X with a primary focus on security, cleaning and optimization. The MacKeeper application also has advanced data control functions for OS X. MacKeeper was the official sponsor of the MacWorld iWorld expo in in San Francisco, California in 2011, 2012 and 2013.[4] The software was also featured on MacWorld's official website for their controversial appearance in previous years.[5]

PCKeeper

PCKeeper is a collection of advanced system utilities for performing different tasks on the personal computer platform. The software also includes data control and optimization tools with drive clean-up utilities. According to Virus Bulletin, PCKeeper has scored 91.9% in RAP test and was listed as number 6 antivirus in the world.[6]
