Bo Kristoffer Nordfeldt (born 23 June 1989) is a Swedish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for SC Heerenveen.
Club career
IF Brommapojkarna
Nordfeldt began his career in Brommapojkarna. The club is famous for its youth academy and is considered to be one of the largest clubs in the world. Despite the success of their developing players, Brommapojkarna never had a spell in Allsvenskan until the season of 2007. Nordfeldt was early spotted as a real talent, and was promoted to the first team for the season of 2006, when the team was playing in Superettan. Nordfeldt did not play any league games that year, or the following year when the team was playing in Allsvenskan.
In 2008, Brommapojkarna were back in Superettan and both keepers, Mattias Asper and Kristoffer Björklund, had left the club. Nordfeldt started his first year as a senior and when the season ended, the club had seen a promotion back to the top flight division of Allsvenskan. He had started 29 out of 30 league games, conceding 27, and having 12 clean sheets.[1] Nordfeldt signed a new contract in the beginning of 2009, keeping him at the club until 2012.[2] As newcomers for the season of 2009, the club was seen as the relegation candidate number 1. The club ended up in a safe 12th position, avoiding relegation.[3] Nordfeldt played 21 league games conceding 31 and having 6 clean sheets.[4]
For the season 2010, experts put the team in about the same position as they had ended up on the year before. As of 6 August 2010, after 17 league games, Brommapojkarna are at 8th place. Nordfeldt has played 12 of the games (he was out for an injury for 5 games), conceding 7 and having 6 clean sheets, helping the team to their top half. He also has an 89% in saving percentage.[5]
On 2 August 2010, there were several scouts spotted at Grimsta to watch the game between Brommapojkarna and the league leaders Helsingborg. The clubs thought to be interested in Nordfeldt were Ajax, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hannover, Heerenveen and Sampdoria.[6]
Heerenveen
On March 6, 2012 Nordfeldt signed a three and a half year deal at Dutch top flight club SC Heerenveen, after having rejected an offer from Premier League side Liverpool F.C..
International career
Between 2008 and 2010, Nordfeldt played 16 games for the Swedish U21-team. In the race for the 2011 U21 European Championships, Sweden played 8 games in their qualification group and 2 in the play-offs, all with Nordfeldt in the starting lineup, with a goal difference of 17 – 10.[7]
Nordfeldt made his debut for Sweden on 22 January 2011 in a friendly game against South Africa Development team.[8]
