Kristina Akheeva (born 1 November 1986) is an Australian Actress and model. She made her "Bollywood" debut with 2013 film "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2". Followed by Telegu film Galipatam which released in 2014.
Early life
Kristina was born in Khabarovsk, Russia, to a Tajikistani-Russian father and Russian Mother. At age 7, Kristina moved to Australia where she spent the rest of her school life.[1]
Career
Kristina gained several years of professional modelling experience before pursuing a career in Acting.
In 2013 Akheeva made her Bollywood film debut opposite Sunny Deol in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 which is a sequel to the super hit 2011 film Yamla Pagla Deewana, starring Dharmendra along with his two sons Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol. Akheeva had to learn Hindi for her role in the film.
In 2014 she made her Tollywood debut with the box office hit Galipatam. Akheeva was garnered praise for her performance, Tollywood times wrote,
"She is one girl to watch out for. Although she is from Australia, she eases comfortably into the part of an Indian girl. Her performance was brilliant. She is a well-trained actress and will soon reach more heights in Telugu Cinema. [2] [3]
Akheeva is currently filming Uppi 2 opposite Upendra. The film will be trilingual releasing in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.
