Kräuterlikör
Kräuterlikör [ˈkʀɔɪtɐlikøːɐ] (herbal liqueur or spiced liqueur) is a type of liqueur that is flavored with herbs or spices and often sweetened with sugar. Liqueurs of this kind normally contain 15% to 44% alcohol by volume.
Widely sold brands are Jägermeister, Unicum, Killepitsch, Kuemmerling and Mummelmann; others include Altvater, Schwartzhog, Schierker Feuerstein, and Wurzelpeter.
The history of Kräuterlikör goes back to the Middle Ages, when mixtures of alcohol and herbs were used as medicine.
