Kotumachagi (Kannada: ಕೋಟುಮಚಗಿ )is a village about 22 km from Gadag in the southern state of Karnataka, India.[1][2] It is located in the Gadag taluk of Gadag district in Karnataka.

Kotumachagi is between Ron and Gadag. It has some important temples of Chalukya style namely Lord Someshwara Temple. The birthplace (Narayanapura about one km) of great poet (Kavi) Chamarasa who wrote Prabulingalile. It is famous for Hazarat Zindashav Ali darga and Durgadevi temple. There is Agrahara, Sanskrit classes used to take place.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Kotumachagi had a population of 6895 with 3447 males and 3448 females.[1]
