Kottancheri Hills

Kottancheri is a famous Hill Station located in Malom(maloth) village of kasaragod district. Kottancheri Hills is a part of the Western Ghats in Kasaragod district of Kerala, south India.Kottancheri Hill Station is the a trekkers paradise in Malom. kottancheri lies in the beautiful rain forest at Konnakad near Malom Town. The Kottancheri Hills is a part of the Western Ghats in Kasaragod district and an extension of Ranipuram wildlife sanctuary. The place is 50 km north-east of Kanhangad. The picnic centre at Kottancheri Hills makes it a favorite among the travellers. The nearness of the Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri mountain range of Kodaku adds to the charm of this place. The Forests of Kottancheri is packed with wildlife and merges with reserved forests of Kasaragod. Wild elephants, wild dogs, deer, wild pigs, rare birds, butterflies are all abundant here. The spot resembles much of the scenic beauty of Kodiakanal.Other tourist spots in Malom like Theanvarikallu,Maruthom tattu,Thunkanpara etc. lies very near to kottancheri.It includes a picnic centre and is ideal for trekking. Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri mountain range of Kodagu is nearby.[1] The Kottancherry wildlife sanctuary is an extension of Ranipuram wildlife sanctuary. It is also a trekkers paradise.
