The Konark Express is a daily express train of the Indian Railways connecting Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSTM) to Bhubaneshwar (BBS). It is one of the oldest trains connecting the eastern and western states of the country.

Timings

The train numbered 11019 leaves Mumbai at 3:10 PM and arrives at Bhubaneshwar three days later by 4:25 AM. The return journey, numbered 11020, leaves Bhubaneshwar at 3:20 PM and arrives at Mumbai by 3:55 AM three days later

Route

Major halts on the way are Dadar, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Solapur, Gulbarga, Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Vijayawada, Rajamundry, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Palasa and Berhampur and Khurda Road.

Incidents

• On July 31, 2008, two people were injured when two coaches and the engine of Konark Express derailed at Gangapur Station near Gulbarga. The cause of the derailment is yet unknown.^[1]
