Komagamine Station (駒ヶ嶺駅 Komagamine-eki) is a railway station operated by JR East in Shinchi. Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

Since March 11, 2011 the operation of the station has been suspended due to the severe damage to the railway and station facilities caused by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.[1]

Komagamine Station was served by the Jōban Line, and wais located 311.4 rail kilometers from the official starting point of the line at Nippori Station.

Station layout

Komagamine Station had a two opposed side platforms connected to the station building by an overhead passageway. The station was unattended.

History

Komagamine Station opened on July 10, 1952. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987. The station building escaped serious damage from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, but the tracks and adjacent stations were destroyed, and services remain suspended.
