Koštabona (Italian: Costabona) is a village in the City Municipality of Koper in the Littoral region of Slovenia.
Overview
It lies on a hill above the Dragonja River. Archaeological evidence shows that the site was inhabited in prehistoric times. In Late Antiquity it was the site of the important Roman fortress Castrum Bonae guarding the trade route through the Dragonja Valley and its name is derived from Latin.[2]
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian.[3]
