Kočno ob Ložnici (pronounced [ˈkoːtʃnɔ ɔp lɔˈʒniːtsi], sometimes Kočno pri Ložnici[2][3]) is a village on the right bank of the Ložnica River in the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica in northeastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Drava Statistical Region.[4]
Name
The name of the settlement was changed from Kočno to Kočno ob Ložnici in 1953.[5][6]
Church
The local church is dedicated to Saint Giles (Slovene: Sveti Egidij) and belongs to the Parish of Laporje. It was built between 1900 and 1903 on the site of an earlier church, first mentioned in written documents dating to 1545.[7]
