Knox Academy
Knox Academy is a co-educational secondary school located in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.
History
Knox Academy is the descendant of a medieval grammar school and is in the List of the Oldest Schools in the World.[1] It was dedicated to John Knox at the end of the 19th century. In 2005, a major overhaul of the school was completed.
It is a non-denominational and co-educational school whose roll (at February 2012) was 804
The current head teacher is S Ingham who took up the position on 13 August 2012.
The cluster primary schools are King's Meadow Primary School, St Mary's Roman Catholic Primary School in Haddington and Yester Primary School in Gifford.
Cadet Force
Knox Academy was the last state school in Scotland to have a Combined Cadet Force, the Knox CCF.[2] The CCF was closed down in 2010.
