Klaus Pohl (computer scientist)

Klaus Pohl (born 1960 as Klaus Mussgnug) is a German computer scientist and Professor for Software Systems Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen, known for his work on Software product line engineering.[1][2]

Life and work

Klaus Pohl studied computer science from 1984 to 1989 at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and Information Science at the University of Koblenz and Landau. Prior to his doctoral studies at the RWTH Aachen in 1995, he worked for several years as a software architect, software developer and consultant.

Pohl directs the Software Systems Engineering group at the Department of Computer science and Business computer science (ICB) ay the University of Duisburg-Essen in Essen. Requirements Engineering was one his research interests early 1990s. In addition to basic research in national and international research projects, the focus of his work lies in the application, evaluation and further development of research results in industry collaborations.
