Kirrawee is a railway station on the Cronulla branch of the Sydney Trains Illawarra line. Located in the Sydney suburb of Kirrawee, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, it serves a residential area and a light industrial area nearby. It is located beside a strip of 25 shops.

History

The station opened in 1939 upon construction of the Cronulla Line[1] as a single-platform station.

Kirrawee was rebuilt as part of the duplication of the remaining single track sections of the Cronulla line, under the CityRail Clearways Project. Work commenced in late 2007 and was completed in 2010.[2][3] The platform used to extend to the other side of the Oak Road overbridge but was straightened by extending the platform to the east.

Platforms and services

As of the new Sydney Trains timetables on Sunday the 20th of October 2013: on weekdays the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day, with additional trains provided during peak hours; and on weekends the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day.[4]
