Kira Nicole Kosarin[1] (born October 7, 1997) is an American actress and singer who currently stars as Phoebe Thunderman in the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans which has just been picked up for a third season and for which she has received a 2015 Kids Choice Award nomination.[2][3][4][5]
Early life and career
Kosarin spent her formative years in Boca Raton, Florida, where she danced and studied ballet at Boca Ballet Theatre and attended middle school at Pine Crest School.[6] Her parents were Broadway performers, so she grew up acting, singing and dancing.[7][8] After attending an "acting on camera" workshop, she fell in love with television acting and decided to move to Los Angeles, California in 2011 to pursue a career in television.[9]
According to Nickelodeon.com, Kosarin was nominated for a 2015 Kids Choice Award, along with Kaley Cuocco Sweeting and several others, in the Favorite TV Actress category. The winner will be announced on the live March 28, 2015 telecast hosted by singer Nick Jonas on Nickelodeon.[10]
Her upcoming film, "Tripwrecked," completed principal photography in November, 2014 in Vancouver, BC in Canada, and will be released in late spring or early summer of 2015.[11]
In addition to acting, Kosarin is an accomplished dancer and musician (she plays guitar, piano and flute), songwriter and singer and released her first single on iTunes called "Replay" on October 31, 2013.[12]
Music career
In 2013, Kosarin provided lead vocals for the American Doll feature film "Saige Paints the Sky."[13] Kosarin also has a YouTube channel where she posts music covers and original songs like "Replay" and her holiday video "Christmas Love." The channel has nearly 10,000 subscribers and over 310,000 views.[14]
