Kippistia is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family.[3][4]

The name commemorates Richard Kippist, librarian to the Linnean Society.[5]

Species

There is only one known species, Kippistia suaedifolia, native to Australia. It is found in every state and territory in the country except Tasmania.[1][6][7]

In 1872, John Miers used the name Kippistia to describe some South American plants in the Celastraceae, even though he was aware that von Mueller had already applied the name to some very different Australian plants.[8] Therefore Miers' names needed to be changed:
