Andrew B. Bachelor, better known by his online alias and persona King Bach, is a Canadian-born American actor, comedian and internet personality. Sometimes referred to as the "King of Vine" due to his 11+ Million followers, the highest on the social Video sharing Site.

Personal life

Bachelor was born to Jamaican parents, both of whom are accountants.[1] At the age of 2 his family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. Bachelor's "strict" Caribbean parents raised him in a Christian household.[2] He attended Coral Springs Charter School for both middle and high school. After graduating Bachelor enrolled at Florida State University, where he was a high jump star athlete.[3][4] He graduated from Florida State in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. While at FSU, Bachelor became a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.[3] Afterwards he enrolled in a graduate program at New York Film Academy, but dropped out in his last semester, and moved to Los Angeles.[5] Bachelor has been noted to have a calm demeanor, contrasting with his exuberant persona portrayed on Vine.[2]

Career

Bachelor has earned 11 million followers and over 3 billion loops on Vine, ranking first on vine, respectively.[6][7] Though he has over 11 million followers on Vine,[6] Bachelor is also known for his YouTube account, BachelorsPadTv.[8] The channel and its videos have been covered by several online publications, including FSU News.[9][10][11] Bachelor has stated that he turns down most requests to upload sponsored Vines.[12]

Bachelor's Vine stardom led to him signing with UTA, and landing a recurring role in House of Lies.[13][14] In addition, he has become a recurring cast member on Wild 'n Out on MTV2. He is also on a series regular on the Adult Swim series, Black Jesus,[2] and has a recurring role on The Mindy Project.

On both his Vines and his YouTube videos, he has collaborated with fellow internet personalities such as Tré Melvin,[15] Alphacat, DeStorm, Nash Grier and Eric Dunn as well as celebrities including Justin Bieber, Tyga, Marlon Wayans, Joan Rivers, Floyd Mayweather, Raven Symone, Keke Palmer, Josh Peck, Don Cheadle and P Diddy. He was introduced to Vine by Brittany Furlan, before uploading his first Vine video on April 29, 2013.[5] He starred as Big Sean in several of Bart Baker's parodies, "Problem", "Break Free", and Pharrell Williams' "Happy". Bachelor has admitted that he almost deleted one Vine, particularly the one that helped him rise as a notable personality on Vine.[2]

In his Vines, Bachelor portrays a caricature of himself, King Bach, as well as other recurring cartoonish characters.[2]

Awards

Bachelor has been nominated for the 1st Annual Screenchart! Channel Awards in 2014 as Best Male Personality (Solo or Duo) which was won by Rhett and Link.[16]
