Life and career
Childhood and youth
Wyatt was born in Warrensburg, Missouri, a town near Kansas City.[2] She began dancing at the age of seven.[2] At the age of 14 she earned a scholarship to study in New York's Joffrey Ballet and the Broadway Dance Center.[3] At the age of seventeen, she graduated from high school and flew to Las Vegas to audition for cruise ship and casino shows. She worked in a revue on Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas for two years.
2001-2010: Career beginnings and the Pussycat Dolls
In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles despite getting an offer from Hubbard St. Dance Co.[2] In 2002, Wyatt became one of the dancers on the comedy sketch show, Cedric the Entertainer Presents as a Cedsation.[4] In 2003, she was a dancer for Nick Lachey's music video. Robin Antin was the choreographer, and it was here where she asked Wyatt to join the Pussycat Dolls.[2] Wyatt does the standing oversplit in most of Pussycat Dolls music video, which she called her trademark move.[5]
In 2008, the band returned with a comeback single, "When I Grow Up" which became another hit single, charting in the top 10 in numerous countries.[6][7] "Whatcha Think About That" was released with Missy Elliott as a single before the album and had moderate success internationally.[8] Doll Domination was released on September 19, 2008 and debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, with 80,000 copies sold in its first week of release.[7] Worldwide, Doll Domination sold over five million copies.[9] Three more successful singles were released from the album — "I Hate This Part", "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" and "Hush Hush"[6][7] One less successful single was also released, which was a collaboration with Snoop Dogg — "Bottle Pop".[7] The band began their second world tour, Doll Domination Tour in early 2009.[10] Her first vocal role in the Pussycat Dolls came when she recorded a solo song called "Don't Wanna Fall in Love" for the Deluxe Edition of their second album, Doll Domination. After Jessica Sutta, Wyatt was the next member to announce her departure from the group. She made the decision before but she stated it officially in the Loaded Magazine. She said the Dolls gave her more than she could ever have before, and gave her a great platform to help her in the industry, since leaving, Kimberly has gone on to pursue a range of projects, including judging on top show Got To Dance
