Kim Sung-jae (18 April 1972 – 20 November 1995) was a South Korean hip-hop singer, rapper and dancer, first known as the member of Deux, hip-hop duo that gained a popularity in the early 1990s. Several months after the group was disbanded, Kim released his solo album "As I Speak" (말하자면) on 19 November 1995. However, the day after his comeback performance at SBS, Kim Sung Jae suddenly died. The police reported that the cause of death was a heart attack caused by a complication of overdose and overworking. His girlfriend was arrested for the alleged murder of Kim Sung Jae but was acquitted. However the case still has been considered an unsolved mystery.[1][2][3][4]

He was born in Seoul, South Korea as the first child and his younger brother is also a singer and musical actor.[2][5]
