Dr. Killi Krupa Rani (born 19 November 1965) is an Indian politician. She is a former member of the Indian Parliament and prviously represents Srikakulam (Lok Sabha constituency during 2009 to 2014).[1] she belongs to Indian National Congress.

Early life

Killi Krupa Rani was born in Srikakulam and did her M.B.B.S. at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatanam, Andhra Pradesh. Killi got married to Shri Rammohan Rao on June, 12 1985 and the couple has two sons.

Career

Dr. Killi Kruparani is a Medical Practitioner by education. As a Convenor, Dr. Rammohan Rao Charitable Trust, for the last 20 years, she has worked towards providing free drinking water supply in rural areas,free medical camps,free cataract operations to the blind, construction and renovation of temples, churches and masjids and encouraging students by conducting talent tests.[2]

She lost parliament election in 2004 but won in 2009 defeating four time MP, Yerran Naidu .[3]

She was inducted into Manmohan Singh's cabinet as Minister of State, Communications and Information Technology.

Interests

Killi is an avid reader and she also takes interest in Shooting ( rifle and pistol), Squash & Cricket. She also has a published book titled The 100 years saga of Nehru's family.[2]
