Khouri Road, Karachi

Khouri Road (also spelled 'Khoury Road) is a small street in Jodia Bazar neighborhood of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The street is commonly referred to as "Kitab Gali," as it is Karachi's primary Used books market.

The road lies to the west of Murad Khan Road, and next to the Khoury Garden. It connects Murad Khan Road to Ram Bharti Street. It was originally a Date Bazaar that gradually transformed into a book bazaar. As compared to Murad Khan Road, Kitaab Gali is slightly less congested with a much smaller number of encroachments. However, the immense variety of books on diverse topics is often haphazardly piled on the ground in front of the shops. One can also spot an occasional wheelbarrow with old books that one can browse through.

Colourful yet raggedy cloth canopies cover most of the open lane and keep the visitors from admiring the architectural features on the buildings on the left side of the road. The buildings however, still stand tall bearing remains of beauty they once possessed. Rich architecture is not the only attractive feature of Kitaab Gali; the fact that most of the shops have been here have been here for decades adds to the historical charm and feel of the place.
