Khafif

Al Khafif was the ruler of Mansurah in Sindh. He set up the Soomro dynasty which was the Abbasid Caliphate's functionary in Sindh until the Siege of Baghdad (1258). He was sent from "Samarra" by the Abbasid Caliphate and thus became known as Khafif Soomera in Sindh.

Al Khafif was the founder of the Soomra Dynasty and he who ruled for 15 years (1011-1026 AD) from Mansurah.[1]

Scholars concur that Khafif was an Ismaili.[2] The Ismaili are a sect of the Shia Islam.[3]
