Kevin Sharkey (journalist)

Kevin Sharkey (born 1964, Donegal, Ireland) is a broadcast journalist with BBC Northern Ireland. He currently works as a journalist for BBC Radio Ulster.

Broadcasting career

Kevin began his broadcast journalism career at Highland Radio in County Donegal.[1] He presented the hourly news bulletins and reported on current affairs from around the North-West.

Sharkey joined the BBC in 2002 and has since reported for BBC Radio Ulster and The Politics Show.[2][3][4][5] Kevin has also presented radio news bulletins for the BBC.

Awards

In 2010, Kevin was recognised for his journalistic skills when he was the recipient for the CIPR Current Affairs Journalist of the Year.[6][7]
