Kevin Gordon (born 26 December 1989 in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales) is an Australian professional rugby league player for the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League (NRL). He primarily plays on the Wing and alongside his Titans team mate David Mead is considered to be among the fastest players in the NRL.

Playing career

Gordon played his junior rugby league with the Sawtell Panthers.[1]

A member of the inaugural Titan's team in the National Youth Competition (NYC) in 2008, Gordon scored 21 tries in the season. He was named in the inaugural NYC Team of the Year in 2008.[2]

Gordon commenced 2009 playing his second season in the under-20s competition but was selected to make his NRL debut in round 3, playing on the wing against the Bulldogs.[3] He finished the 2009 season as the Titans' top try-scorer with 13 tries.

He began the 2010 season as one of the Titans' first choice winger. Gordon proceeded to play in every single match for the Titans in 2010 and was again the Titans' top try-scorer with 12 tries. He has played the majority of his NRL matches to date on the wing. He has also played some games as fullback and centre.

Gordon injured his ACL in Round 2 of the 2011 season against the Melbourne Storm, ruling the promising winger out for the entire 2011 season.[4] Gordon returned in Round 4, 2012 against the New Zealand Warriors at centre and since has been in terrific form.

Personal life

Gordon is eligible for selection for several national teams as his mother of Chinese descent was born in the Philippines and his father is of Scottish descent. His brother Dennis is currently connected to the Titans squad also; he plays for the Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup.[1]

Representative career

Gordon made his debut for the Philippines national rugby league team on 21 October 2012 against Thailand. He would play centre for the Philippines in their historic win that saw the team crowned the inaugural Asian Cup champions.
