Kevin Duala

Kevin Duala is an English television presenter from Liverpool, Merseyside. He is a trained teacher in all aspects of Dance, Drama and Physical Education and is fluent in German and Spanish. He is perhaps best known for the role of 'Kevin' in the British version of Blue's Clues (1998-2003) for Nick Jr, but is a familiar face presenting on all terrestrial and Sky channels.

Biography

Duala's paternal grandfather was Cameroonian, Thomas Duala, born c. 1900. Thomas emigrated to Britain and married Ellen McGurthy; they had two sons and four daughters. Kevin Duala was born in Liverpool and is a supporter of Liverpool Football Club.[1] He was a very keen footballer before an injury ended his career and he went to drama school. He began working as stage actor and starred as Rocky 1 in Starlight Express. His role was cut short when his knee cap snapped while on stage and he had to be rushed to hospital. He is perhaps best known for the role of 'Kevin' in the British version of Blue's Clues for Nick Jr. His other television credits include Who Wants To Be a Great Cook?, Allsorts, and Modelmania.Discovery Channel. He was also a presenter on the "Prize Time" and "Games Room" strands on Challenge TV, and also presented Virtual World of Sport on The Computer Channel, Boiled Egg and Soldiers on Sky1 and Zig Zag on BBC2.

Duala more recently he co-presented on the travel channel: Thomas Cook TV and Around the World for Sky. Also fronting a financial property show: Property Boot Camp. Previously, presenting Spanish and European interactive language programs for the BBC, and many features for HOLIDAY and Holiday on a shoestring on BBC1. Where he was the unofficial adventure sports expert: kayaking, bungee jumping, horse- riding, ice-skating and mountain climbing for the show. presented travel inserts for Thomas Cook TV and can be heard on the radio station BBC Radio 4 Extra where he co-hosts Big Toe,[2] which is aimed at children and young teenagers, as well as numerous V/O commercials from the Army to Adidas. He was a presenter on the British channel, Argos TV on channel number 642, until the channel was closed in May 2013.[3] March 2014 Duala has picked up his Shopping TV experience and can be seen occasionally presenting on Shop at Bid. He has recently finished co-producing and hosting a children's series called "Fit Phonics" which can be seen on Nick Jr 2 combining exercise/dance and learning how to read phonetically. Duala lived in Andalucia, Spain for a while with his wife Steph and three young children, Ella, Joseph and Darcey. Successfully renovating their farmhouse. He now resides in Brighton UK. Duala having an avid interest in personal health qualified as a personal trainer and has also set up his own studio for personal training sessions. Alongside his TV commitments he works for the Ministry of Justice as a facilitator, working both as a mentor and trainer with young offenders.
