Keshav Mahavidyalaya also known as KMV/ Keshav College was established by Govt. of NCT of Delhi in 1994.[1] Established in the year 1994 and is wholly funded by Government of NCT, Delhi. It started functioning from a school building in Keshavpuram with just two courses to begin with namely B.Com (H) and B.Sc. (Gen) with Computer Science. Gradually course like B.Sc. (H) Electronics, B.Sc.(Gen) Mathematical Science, PGDCA and B.Sc.(H) Computer Science were added. The new campus of the college at Pitampura(H-4-5 Zone near Sainik Vihar) started functioning from academic session 2006-07and courses like B.Sc.(H) Mathematics, B.Sc.(H) Physics, B.tech Psychology and Bachelor of Business studies(then BMS ) were added for from 2013-2014.Now as per the new guidelines the old Bsc and BBS programmes were restored.

As per the new guidelines by UGC the FYUP(Four Year Undergraduate Programme) was rolled back.The new courses offered are

BCOM (Hons), BBS , Bsc CS, Bsc ELC, Bsc PSY ,Maths (Hons.),Physics (Hons .)

Campus

The campus sprawls on 10 acres of land. It has an air conditioned auditorium and seminar room, lecture theaters, well equipped laboratories, a library, and spacious and comfortable classrooms.

The college has a Wi-fi connectivity and internet facility is available to faculty members and students through university computer centre. All the labs in the college have access to e-journals subscribed by the Delhi University Library through the University's intranet. These intranet access points have been distributed throughout the college in various departments.

The College has a well-stocked fully computerized spacious library comprising two large reading rooms and a separate magazine section. The library has more than 15000 books with new books and editions added every year, a rich collection of text and reference materials and encyclopaedia of various fields. Large number of dailies, weeklies, and periodicals are being subscribed by the library on a regular basis. The library also provides essential services i.e. Photocopier Service to the users. Internet facility is also being provided by the library.

The campus has an amphitheater with five pillars symbolizing the five elements – air, water, sky, earth and fire. It is a host to a variety of performances, competitions, street plays etc. by students.

A seminar hall is used to host a variety of events throughout the year. The seminar room has a seating capacity of around 100 delegates and is equipped with an LCD Projector, Interactive Board and audio conferencing public address system.

The college has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 800 persons. It has two green-rooms, one for boys and the other for girls.

Hostel

The college has a girls' hostel with a capacity of 80 students which is functional.

The college promotes organization of seminars, workshops and lectures in the field of academics, population-education, environment, social service and other co-curricular activities. With a view to help the economically weak and meritorious students the college also provides scholarship and fee-concession facilities.

Placement Cell

In the past years, the students have been placed in well known companies like The Smart Cube, Capital IQ, Protiviti Consulting, Jaypee Capital, Grail Research, Corporate Executive Board, Bank of America, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Igate etc. The BBS Placement Cell, CPDC, has been responsible for providing 100% placement to the students. The Highest package offered was in excess of 10,00,000 INR.

For the BBS class of 2012, the placement process has already begun, with companies like Smart cube and Capital IQ hiring students. The position offered in smart cube is of Analyst and of Research Analyst in Capital IQ.

The BBS class of 2014 was offered a highest package exceeding 8,00,000 and average package was 5,00,000

For B.com (hons.) every year CA ,CS, CWA rank holders emerge from the college. Most of the college alumni is also noticed getting handsome placements/article-ship in companies like KPMG, E&Y, PWC, GENPACT, HDFC etc. Apart from this huge number of students of computer science and electronics get placements in WIPRO, HCL etc.

Famous societies like Biz world-commerce society, Metamorphosis -BBS/BMS society, BLITS computer society . Apart from these there are budding societies of debate , dance , music and quizzing in campus. Students of these societies have won various prizes at various level in the field of quizzing, debating, marketing, programming, graphic designing etc.
