The Kern High School District (KHSD) is public high school system headquartered in Bakersfield, California and serves the county of Kern located at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. The Kern High School District has more than 35,000 students and 3,500 employees.The KHSD encompasses about 3,500 square miles (9,100 km2), about 43 percent of the total area of Kern County. Founded in 1893,[2] the KHSD currently includes:
