Kenya Cup is the premier rugby union competition in Kenya. It is organised by the Kenya Rugby Union. Kenya Cup currently has fourteen teams and is played on a one-off league format with the top four sides heading into the semi-final play-offs, where the finalists clash for the overall title. There is a promotion and relegation between Kenya Cup and The Nationwide League (the second level rugby division).
Kenya Cup was held for the first time in 1970, and was won by Impala.[1] Nakuru are the current champions after defeating KCB 20-13 in the final played at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 17 May 2014. They won it for the first time after beating Strathmore Leos 37–3 in the final played at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani on Saturday 23 February 2013.

The Kenya Cup has witnessed expansion over the past few years as part of the Kenya Rugby Union's affirmative action aimed at taking the game across Kenya. For the 2011–12 season, Homeboyz and Kisumu were promoted from the Eric Shirley Shield, while Western Bulls and Blak Blad earned promotion in the 2012–13 season. Eldoret and Mombasa were promoted for the 2013–14 season. Promotion and relegation will take place from the 2013–14 season. All teams, except Nakuru, Western Bulls, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Mombasa are from Nairobi.

a. ^ This webpage states that Harlequins had also had "Previous Kenya Cup victories: 1955, 1957, 1964, 1988". This is probably incorrect as these are years that Harlequins won the Enterprise Cup.The Kenya Cup was inaugurated in 1970. Before 1970 the competition which was held was called the Nairobi District Championship. However the 1995 victory seems likely as it is included in a list that also shows the Enterprise Cup win that year.
