Ken Ilsø Larsen (born 2 December 1986) is a Danish footballer,[3][4][5][6][7] who is currently playing for the Singaporean top contender Home United FC.
Career
Born in Copenhagen, Ilsø started his career at local amateur club Pioneren. His career progressed, and he played for different youth sides in Copenhagen. In 2004, he was signed as a youth player by Dutch side SC Heerenveen, being labelled as one of Denmark's finest talents.
However, Ilsø never managed to break through Heerenveen's reserve team, so he decided to return to Denmark to play for SønderjyskE.[8] His time at SønderjyskE was very successful, scoring 12 goals in 52 league matches for a SønderjyskE side that always feared relegation.[9]
In summer 2009, Ilsø was signed by FC Midtjylland,[10] who ended at the fourth spot in the Danish Superliga the season before. Ilsø has since his transfer been an important player for Midtjylland, for example scoring the decisive goal against Silkeborg IF in the 2010–11 season opener.[11]
In February 2014, Ilsø joined Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F, but he left the club after only three months due to a reduction in his playing time.[12]
In January 2015 he signed a contract with Home United FC for the remainder of the season. Before he signed the contract he attracted a multiple number of clubs in his home country, as well as Thailand but wanted another adventure far away from home. He signed for Home because he was sold on the youth development philosophy at Home United.[13]
Ilsø scored his first competitive goal for Home just 23 minutes into his S.League debut.[14] Ilsø scored his second goal for Home in his second match, finding the back of the net from the spot.[15] He continued his goalscoring start to the season by scoring his 3rd goal in the 3rd game of the season. He also laid on an assist for teammate Sirina Camara to secure his team's first win of the season over Tampines Rovers FC.[16] Ilsø notched his fourth of the season in his 4th consecutive league match for Home, scoring the first goal of a 2-2 draw against Brunei DPMM FC.[17]
