Kavi, Gujarat

Kavi is a village and railway station located in Jambusar Taluka of Bharuch district of Gujarat, India.[1] It is situated near gulf of Khambhat. It is at 2 km distance from famous Mahadev Temple of Kamboi which is situated in small village of Kamboi near seashore. Kavi is a terminus station on BharuchJambusar – Kavi line of Western Railway. The station code is KAVI[2]

Kavi is also known for its Jain temples and is one of the pilgrimage centers for Jain community.[3]

The population of village is 10,428 as per the 2011 census. It has 2182 households. It constitute 51% male population. Literacy rate is 69%. Workforce is 36% of total population. Number of children below age of 6 years are 1354.

It is connected to Jambusar by road through Sarod Sez. New transport medium is by road now as the road has very good condition throughout the year.

Kavi is very clean village with very good natural amenities like lakes, ambawadi (area populating trees of mangoes), beautiful evergreen farms, sea-shore etc. It also has typical classical Indian bazar and chakla, where people gather in the evening and night. Many people relocated out in the cities for job and work. People in huge amount has also gone outside India mostly in South Africa, and then Middle East and England.
