Kaur Kender

Kaur Kender, (born May 27, 1971 in Estonia) is an Estonian author[1] and entrepreneur.

An advertising executive by profession, Kender entered the Estonian literary scene in 1998 with his debut novel "Independence Day" ("Iseseisvuspäev"). Since then his books have enjoyed unprecedented popularity in Estonia with the old and the young, the literary elite and the popular culture.

His writing is as controversial and provocative as his own life and personality – as a semiotician and former advertising executive, he has once said that sometimes he wishes that truck drivers and prostitutes would write more books because they have unusual stories to tell.
