Katy Elizabeth Bourne is a Conservative politician. She is the Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex Police.

Political career

Bourne was the National Chairman of the Conservative Women's Organisation,[1] until 2012 and served as a District Councillor (until March 2013) for Mid Sussex and is a school governor of Oriel High School[2] On 15 November 2012, she was elected Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex Police with a majority of 24,426.

She draws a salary of £85,000.

At a meeting in Brighton, in October 2014, she suggested that cyclists should wear some type of identification, quoting statistics that she failed to explain in a subsequent interview with The Guardian national newspaper.[3]

She was appointed as Director to the Board of the College of Policing in 2013.
