Celine Tran, know commonly by her stage name Katsuni (born April 9, 1979) is a former French pornographic actress and featured dancer.[2][4][5][6]

Biography

Katsuni is of French/Vietnamese heritage.[7][4][8] Her father is Vietnamese and her mother's family is French. She is fluent in French and English.[9][10]

After studying political science for a year at Grenoble Institute of Political Studies, she entered the adult film industry in 2002 at around the age of 23 and has since appeared in over 350 films.[2] In December 2006, Katsuni signed an exclusive performing contract with Digital Playground.[7] She originally performed using the stage name "Katsumi" (a common given name in Japan for both sexes), but she was barred by a French judge in Créteil, France in January 2007 from using the name, after a woman named Mary Katsumi sued over the resemblance to her own name.[4][8] In September 2007, Katsuni was fined €20,000 for violations of the ban on using the name "Katsumi".[11]

In 2011, she promoted Hentai during a comic convention in Angoulême, France.[12]

In May 2006, she got breast implants.[2] Her first film with her new breasts, French ConneXion of Marc Dorcel Productions, came out at the beginning of 2007. In the meantime, Katsuni also graced the cover of Marquis magazine, a leader in fetishism, and hosted the weekly program, En attendant minuit, broadcast by TPS Star, a TV show in France.

In July 2008, Katsuni released My Fucking Life (Marc Dorcel Studios). The movie is partly a documentary on Katsuni's daily life over a year, with a look at her shoots in Las Vegas, on set during filming in Porn Valley, along with a bit of her personal life.

Complex magazine ranked Katsuni at #3 on their list of "The Top 50 Hottest Asian Porn Stars of All Time",[4] #14 on their list of "The Top 100 Hottest Porn Stars (Right Now)",[3] and #48 on their list of "The 50 Prettiest Porn Stars of All Time".[8]

In March 2013, Katsuni won a lawsuit against Bow Wow for using footage of her pole dancing in his video "Drank In My Cup".[1]

On August 14, 2013, Katsuni announced that she was retiring from porn in order to focus on her acting career.[5]
