Kate Corbett (born in Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador) is a Canadian actress. Corbett started her acting career working in repertoire summer theatre at a very young age in Newfoundland. Once graduating high school, she moved to Toronto, Ontario to study Theatre at Ryerson University. Kate continued her studies a few years later at the Canadian Film Centre's Acting Conservatory.
Corbett's feature film credits include; The Steps (2015), two Toronto International Film Festival film selections, Empire of Dirt (2013) and The Animal Project (2013); as well as principal roles in the features Barn Wedding (2014) and How to Be Deadly (2014). Kate has also starred in several short films, including award winning How Eunice Got Her Baby (2009) and The Tunnel (2013) (*Not Short on Talent recipient for Cannes Film Festival) which she is also the credited writer.
Television credits include: Fargo (FX/MGM), Lost Girl (Showcase), Signed Sealed Delivered (Hallmark), Odd Squad (PBS), Republic of Doyle (CBC), Satisfaction (CTV), Call Me Fitz (E1), The LA Complex (CTV), InSecurity (CBC) and Family Biz (YTV).
Some of Kate's recent Toronto based theatre credits include; a "Canadian Stage" English premiere production of "Yukonstyle" by Sarah Berthiaume and directed by Ted Witzel. As well as, a "Tarragon Theatre" production of "Rocking the Cradle" by Des Walsh and directed by Richard Rose.
