Katahama Station (片浜駅 Katahama-eki) is a railway station in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on the Tōkaidō Main Line. It is located 130.3 rail kilometers from Tokyo Station, and is operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).

History

Katahama Station was opened on March 21, 1987 primarily as a commuter station serving Numazu City. It was the last train station to be built by the Japan National Railways before its privatization.

Layout

Katahama Station has two opposing side platforms serving Track 1 and Track 2, with the station building built on the overpass connecting the platforms. The station building has automated ticket machines, TOICA automated turnstiles and a manned "Green Window" service counter. During night hours, the station is usually not manned.
