KartRocket is an Indian e-commerce platform founded in 2012 by India based company BigFoot Retail Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The website offers tools that allow small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to create and run their online stores with web and mobile site designs, built-in shipping, payment methods and multi-channel sales integration. The company's technology is integrated with leading technology and e-commerce companies, such as eBay, Amazon.com and Snapdeal.[1] KartRocket is the first company in India to provide automated logistic solutions for E-commerce under the name of Shiprocket.[2][3]
History
KartRocket was founded in 2012 by India based company BigFoot Retail Solutions Pvt. Ltd. under the management of two Indian entrepreneurs, Saahil Goel and Gautam Kapoor. The website was launched in public beta in 2013, and from the initial 120 users,[4] the website has grown to a total of 1900 regular customers in 2014.[5]
In 2013, the company launched a web-based API that enables customers of other shopping carts such as Magento, Opencart, Woocommerce, Shopify, and Prestashop, to integrate ShipRocket (a logistics product by KartRocket). ShipRocket is a shipping solution that enables customers to dispatch a shipment, pick a courier company, assign an airway bill number, and print a shipping label, among other facilities. The service prints packing slips in batches providing easy access to all customers and order information in one place. Order statuses change automatically from dispatch to shipped and from shipped to delivered, facilitating the tracking of order history for a particular order.[2]
In 2014, the company also launched its mobile app (Android and IOS) which lets the Kartrocket merchants manage their orders and add new products to their store from their mobile phone.[6]
Funding
In July 2013, KartRocket had raised their angel round from 5ideas, 500 Startups and angel investor Jatin Aneja.[7][8] In October 2014, KartRocket announced granting of a Series A round led by technology investor Nirvana Venture Advisors and 500 Startups, together with Tokyo-based Beenos, previously known as Netprice.com.[9] Company's officials stated that, with the funds, they want to solve the next set of problems around cataloging, mobile, traffic generation and discovery with the plans of expanding company's presence throughout India with the focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.[10]
Clients
KartRocket's clients include companies such as Da Milano, Uni Style Image, Valyoo Technologies, TantraTshirts, Gaurav Gupta, Gyans, Divani, Karol Bagh Saree House and Latin Quarters.[7]
